Hi Guys!

As I'm busily painting as fast as I can, trying to get ready for a Christmas show in Alamagordo, New Mexico... I thought I'd share some of what I have done. Hope you like.

Jamie: Just want to say "Thank You" again for the wonderful things to paint. I'll share more as I keep going.

On the next posting I'm going to show a vase that I've painted. I absolutely love it. Hope you do too.

This was a big accomplishment for me. I have to say that I'm very happy with how it turned out.

There are four sides to this vase, but I can't get the picture size small enough to download.

Maybe when I take other photos that include the greenery that this vase sets in, I can send them too.

Oh well.....Happy Painting Everyone!

Cris,

Your ornaments are so pretty but that vase is WOW!!!  That is so beautiful.  I love your pine needles and holly and berries.  What a nice job.  Doesn't it feel wonderful to sit and look at something that you have worked so hard on and it turns out like that.  Makes all the work so worthwhile.  Great job!

Happy painting,
Sandy

Thank you so very much. All of this has been so much fun. I'm really excited about the show but I'm a little stressed because there is still so much left to do.

I truly appreciate all of the kind words from all of you. I guess I'll have to boogie to get more done so I can share.

Jamie, I have to say again how much I really enjoy painting the designs you've created. I look forward to many, many more.

Yes Sandy....I always feel proud when something I've done turns out so well. I think my biggest problem is relaxing when I'm painting.... sometimes I cause myself more stress than needed. I managed to stay stress free while I did the vase and I was amazed at the results.

Thanks again and happy painting to everyone!

Hi Cris,
I think your vase is fantastic. What type of paint did you use on it? Did you need to prepare the surface first? I would love to paint something similar if I could.

Hi Sarah. Thank you for the compliment. I used FolkArt Enamel paint. To prepare the surface, I used rubbing alcohol first and then followed with a good washing in soapy water. The toughest thing is that I have to constantly wash my hands to keep the oil from my skin from transferring on to the glass.

Dawn: love your project. Cute...Cute

Thank you also Jackie, Ann & LuAnn.

Sure hope to see what everyone else has been up to.

Great job Dawn, love it! You have a nice touch too...I used to love to paint Welcomes (w/cottages/houses) plaques when I painted to sell.

Cris, I have to agree, I love to see the angels painted in different colors - you could do the faces in many colors, for many different ethnicity's.

I completely agree Jamie and that is what my intention is. I think they will sell just because of that reason because I believe that is a very important factor (especially for shoppers).

I'll post more photos as I have tons of painting to do this weekend. The show is right around the corner....YIKES... plus I still have one last vase to finish painting. I sure wish I had 3 or four of me....I'd come in handy....lol

In the meantime, here are a few more things I've been up to. The wood angel turned out 3 dimentional looking and has been a big hit. My uncle did a carving of the actual angel and my aunt had one of her people do a lazer etching of it.

The snow man has "No Fire" snow on it and I used Star Lite sparkle stuff (which doesn't show on the photo). Oh well, it sure was fun to paint.

Sorry so tardy Cris!

Those are wonderful! Love the angel too...and I am sure the sparkles show up much better in person. I have trouble when shooting pieces that I dabbed it on (or in most cases *reshoot* pieces) - it ends up looking like little polka-dots, instead of sparkles. lol Oh well, in person, muuuuch better.

Good luck with your show, I hope you do well!

Hugs, Jamie
