Ok folks!! Need some input here!!
What is the best way to basecoat the letters on the ornament? I started to basecoat and I am getting "Glubbers" inbetween the cut out part. How can I avoid those little critters!!

Try holding you brush, so that you are using it flat, and pulling it across the surface, rather than straight up and down. Works for me.

Hi Diane, what Beth posted should work great...and I also use Q-tips to help get the paint out of those little areas (or even a small scruffy, flat brush).
